Employment Tribunals and Procedure (Constitution, jurisdiction, etc)
Key points § Employment tribunals were first established by section 12 of the Industrial Training Act 1964 to hear appeals by employers against any notice of assessment to levy (the training levy) imposed by industrial training boards under section 4 of that Act. § The law relating to the composition and jurisdiction of employment tribunals (and of the Employment Appeal Tribunal) is presently to be found in the Employment Tribunals Act 1996 and in regulations made under (or saved by) that Act.
